Memento Mori

Naturally, the butterfly is a symbol of freedom, happiness, nature, and dreams. But also, I sometimes see them as being symbolic of a moment. An instance of being fully present and mindful. Butterflies belong to nature and do not have a single worry about the future or the past. From the moment they come out of their cocoon and spread their wings they begin to flutter around the flower. This part of their lives only lasts up to five weeks and oftentimes only a few days, but it is of no matter to them. They live in the present and enjoy every moment. Oh, so many things we can learn from the simple life of a butterfly.
