The disco had such an incredible impact on contemporary culture and art. My first introduction was in the discothèque in Paris in the late ‘60s and then again in New York shortly after I moved to the buzzing city. In both places, the energy was so vibrant and alluring. Every time I would step inside the dark club my world would light up as I would become immersed in the music. It wasn’t so one-dimensional as a tune that you could simply hear, but you could feel it, and see it. The disco was a sensation.
