Disco Ecstacy

Disco had such an influence on pop culture in my most formative years of studying art. My first introduction was in the discothèque in Paris in the late ‘60s and then again in New York shortly after I moved to the buzzing city. The art of the time was dominated by abstract expressionism. Everything was about the interpretation of an emotion, and the emotion that mattered the most was joy, pure, ecstatic joy.
