Of all the animals I enjoy painting, cows have a special place in my heart. Cows were the first animals I ever laid eyes on when I was a child. In the 20s' my grandparents came to Israel and started a cow farm. So I grew up around them and got to know them in a very personal way. Each cow was distinctive, but one thing they all shared was their marvelous smell. As I painted this series of cows, honoring some of my favorites from childhood, I could not leave out one of their most distinctive characteristics, the cow pies.
