I find cows to be the most special of all the animals I paint. They are the most like us, with distinct personalities and complicated friendships. I grew up visiting my grandparent’s farm and spending time with cows. Each cow was so distinctive from the next. Elza was always the clown of the group. I think she would wake up with a giant cow smile on her face. She would prance about whenever she saw me. I loved watching her dance.
