There is a quiet poetry in an abandoned home, especially in the rolling fields of Umbria. In this painting, I was drawn to the memory of sunlight still resting gently on worn stone walls, and how wild grasses reclaim the doorway. The farmhouse stands alone in the farmland, yet it doesn’t feel lonely; it feels patient, as if holding stories in its faded, softened edges. I wanted to capture that stillness and the romance of time passing, the beauty of imperfection, and the deep, earthy calm that only the Italian countryside can offer.
