Human bodies are incredible things that create endless sources of inspiration for my art. Watching a person run, cycle, jump, or surf, they manipulate their bodies in the most spectacular and perplexing ways. These limbs and muscles that we carry around with us are a gift to us from nature, but some of us have skillfully trained our natural bodies to achieve supernatural feats. Here, my surfer, has his arms stretched out and eyes wide open in awe of the wave he was chasing after now looming over him. Does mastery of his sport make him superhuman, or does it connect him more deeply to nature and the sea?
