Whenever I work on a new artwork depicting a crowd, I start to paint more details and personalities of each character. This work started decades ago when I would sketch the general form of a group in monotonous tones. Years later, I see the crowd for the people that make it. Each person has a life and a story unique to themselves. These are the stories that make up the essence of the crowd as a whole.
