I have always been attracted to cyclists and thus I paint people biking both for pleasure and for competition. The more time I spent studying cyclists in competition I began to realize how closely intertwined sports and art truly are. Like art, sport is a form of communication with an international audience. In this communication, there is no significance to nationality, language, or race. What matters is expression and connection. These racers connect to one another in a peloton, and with their audience through the art of their sport. They are the essence of camaraderie in competition, and hard work. I admire their sport, and express my adoration through the artwork 'Racing.'
