In this painting, a single koi swims just beneath the glassy surface of the water, calm and unbothered. There’s only the tiniest ripple from where I dipped my finger in for just a second. That gentle movement feels like a quiet connection between me and the fish, like we noticed each other in the stillness. I wanted to capture that simple, almost meditative moment. The kind that stays with you long after you walk away.
