In the 20s, my grandparents came to Israel and started farming the land. I grew up very close to them and spent plenty of time around the cows and donkeys. To me, these animals were so large, almost mystically so. I loved the shape of their bodies and their pleasant expressions. They were among the first animals I ever began to draw, and I still find myself sketching them often.
