I remember when I first moved to New York City, the music at the time was dominated by energetic sounds, just as the art scene was dominated by abstract expressionism. Everything was about the interpretation of emotions. We danced freely and painted however we felt. My brush moved willingly, shattering the rules of traditional art, just like a dancer breaking the bounds of gravity. I love to paint dancers for this reason, as they inspire so many great moments of my own artistic growth.
