I once heard the expression “tulipmania,” and before even looking up the definition, I knew what it was all about. The most important and iconic flower in the Netherlands is the tulip; at one point in time, they were worth even more than gold for the Dutch. Every time I place a bouquet of tulips into a vase of water, I feel transported back to the days of tulipmania. This artwork is my love letter to the Dutch.
